Who’s Playing
LIU @ Merrimack
Current Records: LIU 3-8; Merrimack 6-8
What to Know
The LIU Sharks and the Merrimack Warriors are even-steven against one another since February of last year (2-2), but not for long. LIU and the Warriors will face off in a Northeast battle at 2 p.m. ET on Friday at Hammel Court. The teams split their matchups last year, with Merrimack winning the first 68-63 and LIU taking the second 78-68.
LIU was close but no cigar on Wednesday as they fell 69-65 to the Sacred Heart Pioneers.
Meanwhile, Merrimack beat the St. Francis (N.Y.) Terriers 74-64 on Wednesday.
The Sharks are now 3-8 while Merrimack sits at 6-8. A pair of offensive numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: LIU has only been able to knock down 41.40% percent of their shots, which is the 53rd lowest field goal percentage in college basketball. Merrimack has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the 353rd fewest points per game in college basketball, having accrued only 56.9 on average. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
