What to Know
After a two-game homestand, the Detroit Lions will be on the road. They will square off against the Denver Broncos at 4:05 p.m. ET next Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High. The Lions should still be feeling good after a win, while Denver will be looking to get back in the win column.
On Sunday, Detroit narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Minnesota Vikings 29-27. The team accrued 20 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory. No one had a standout game offensively for Detroit, but they got scores from TE T.J. Hockenson, WR Amon-Ra St. Brown, and TE Brock Wright. Detroit’s victory came on an 11-yard TD pass from QB Jared Goff to St. Brown with only 0:04 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Special teams collected 11 points for Detroit. K Riley Patterson delivered a perfect 3-for-3 game.
Meanwhile, the Broncos came up short against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, falling 22-9. QB Teddy Bridgewater had a pretty forgettable game, throwing two interceptions.
The Lions’ victory brought them up to 1-10-1 while Denver’s loss pulled them down to 6-6. A pair of defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Detroit is fourth worst in the league in yards allowed per game, with 380.9 on average. Denver’s defense has more to brag about, as they they come into the contest boasting the second fewest rushing touchdowns allowed in the NFL at seven.
